Safety Assurance Engineer needed.
12 Month contract
SC Clearance required
£73 per hour - 7.5hrs per day
Roles & Responsibilities:
Coordinate all the Safety Assurance activities on the project.
Define Safety plan and manage safety workload and associated planning.
Perform Safety analysis, manage Hazard Log, review Design, V&V, T&C activities from a Safety perspective.
Build the Safety Reports and the Safety Case.
Apply the safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification and validation) defined for the project.
Defend Safety Case argumentations in front of internal (QS, Safety Assessor) and external (ISA) assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close the findings of the assessor.
Manage (if any) the Safety Assurance Engineers involved on the project.
Contribute to the development and delivery of our annual assurance plan.
Oversee the gathering and communicating of assurance information to relevant parties.
Support the Head of Assurance in the continuous improvement of our assurance framework.
Promote high standards and a coordinated approach to assurance activities.Requirements:
Engineering degree
>5 years of experience in Nuclear projects
Relevant experience in Safety Assurance in Nuclear Safety Projects.
Successful experience in working in a multi-site, multi-cultural environment.
Working knowledge of Safety Methods: Safety Plan, Preliminary Hazard Analysis PHA, Failure Modes and Effects Critical Analysis FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis FTA, Interface Hazard Analysis IHA, Operation & Support Hazard Analysis OSHA, Safety related Item List SRIL, Hazard Log HL, V&V Safety Report, and Safety Case.
Proven experience in risk management, internal controls, financial management, and audit in an operational setting.
Experience in planning and undertaking assurance reviews/audits, forming evidence-based conclusions and recommendations, and documenting them in written reports.
