This is a fantastic opportunity for a governance professional with local government experience to contribute to the development and delivery of an effective Governing Body Management framework.


About the Role:


The Governance Manager will be responsible for the implementation and management of the Fund’s Governing Body training programme, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance. You will support the Governing Body, Pensions Committee, and Local Pensions Board.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Governing Body Management: Manage, coordinate, and deliver Governing Body meetings, including preparing agendas and papers that meet statutory requirements.
  • Training Implementation: Design and manage an effective training programme for Governing Body members to meet statutory knowledge and skill requirements.
  • Policy Management: Develop and maintain the Fund’s Policy Management Framework, ensuring statutory policies are reviewed and adopted as required.
  • Information Governance: Embed and oversee the Fund’s Information Governance Framework, ensuring compliance with Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation.
  • Communication Materials: Create effective communication materials to support the ongoing development of Governing Body members.
  • Information Requests: Ensure timely responses to Data Protection Subject Access Requests and Freedom of Information Requests.
  • Employee Training: Design and deliver relevant training to employees.

Requirements:
