My prestigious financial services client are looking for you to oversee the management and operation of Azure infrastructure across the organization, ensuring compliance with governance and security policies. You will create and maintain documentation for migration strategies, best practices, and architectural guidelines.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Azure, managing cloud infrastructure, and deploying resources
  • Automate Azure deployments using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
  • In-depth understanding of Azure Identity, including Service Principals, Enterprise Applications, and App Proxy configurations
  • Strong familiarity with Windows Server operating systems (Server 2016 and above)
  • Solid grasp of networking principles, particularly in relation to cloud environments
  • Good understanding of identity management best practices, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP)


Desirable Skills:

  • Proficient in Terraform and Azure Bicep scripting for infrastructure automation
  • Basic knowledge of SQL database administration, both on virtual machines and as a PaaS offering
  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop deployment and management
  • Familiarity with automation tools, particularly Power Automate


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize DevOps tools to develop repeatable deployment processes and management strategies for Azure resources
  • Ensure cloud environments are secure, high-performing, and available, addressing any potential risks proactively
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Azure tenant, identifying opportunities for technical enhancements
  • Participate in disaster recovery initiatives, including regular testing and maintaining readiness for disaster recovery scenarios
  • Conduct root cause analysis for issues and proactively identify infrastructure risks
  • Assist in shaping the IT roadmap and service improvement plans with a focus on Microsoft technologies
  • Implement changes following the IT change management process and participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
  • Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and Microsoft Azure updates to continually enhance the organization’s cloud capabilities
  • Ensure that data retention and residency requirements are consistently met
