POSITION OVERVIEW
This is exciting opportunity to join a leading games publisher as a Data Developer. Working within the Data Services team, you will be collaborating with team members at our company and across our studios. You will need to evangelise and engage the business in data and AI initiatives. You will be responsible for data engineering and analysis. You will need to report on game analytics data for our exciting portfolio of games. In this role, you will work closely with all areas of the business to ensure a joined-up data strategy and provide analysis and insight into our games and consumers. You will also be heavily involved in future data strategies, including GenAI initiatives, building real-time data workflows, and projects that leverage data to enhance our consumer engagement and communication. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a key member of the data services team, you will provide detailed analysis and reporting on a variety of areas focused on game analytics and the people who play them. You will need to effectively collaborate with fellow Data Developers and Data Scientists to help find solutions to complex data challenges.
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and deployment of data projects and pipelines across our company and its studios.
- Promote the value of data-driven decision-making throughout the business and inspire teams to leverage data.
- Be involved in the development of data initiatives, serving as the key point of contact for data technologies including Python, Spark, and SQL. Be a key knowledge source for databricks development in Spark, Python and SQL.
- Encourage continuous learning by keeping up to date with relevant courses and certifications.
As a highly skilled communicator, you will be presenting recommendations and findings to key stakeholders within the business, taking on feedback but also comfortable with defending challenges to your findings as appropriate. You will collaborate with other members of the team, helping to update various databases, data warehouses, and systems responsible for importing, storing, and reporting on a variety of data sources.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Demonstrable experience working within a data analysis/engineering role.
- High-level knowledge of SQL and good knowledge of Python/Scala plus experience in a cloud big data warehouse technology such as Amazon Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake.
- Experience of data visualisation packages such as Power BI / Tableau.
- Demonstrable experience synthesising a large amount of data into key themes and trends, spotting any anomalies, and building a comprehensive story.
- Advanced data modelling skills with experience of managing large and complex data sets
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
Desirable
- Experience in using Databricks.
- Experience using Apache Spark / pySpark.
- Experience in developing ML models and understanding the key concepts
- Passion for video games.
