About the Role

Our Senior Structural Engineers play a crucial role within our business. The focus of this position will be to technically review permanent works designs, provide in-house temporary works design and site support, and represent and promote the Group’s engineering and technical expertise.

As our Senior Structural Engineer, you will:

  1. Provide technical reviews of projects at the tender stage, offering a report on risks and opportunities.
  2. Liaise with the work-winning and Design Management teams to direct and develop optimum solutions to be delivered by others.
  3. Provide In-House Temporary Works solutions for projects at the tender stage and on live sites.
  4. Offer alternative and innovative design options for both permanent and temporary works where required.
  5. Deliver training, support, and guidance to our site-based Temporary Works Coordinators and other site staff when necessary.
  6. Represent Wates engineering externally, while growing and maintaining relationships with our preferred consultants and supply chain.
