Company overview

En Route International operates globally as part of dnata, one of the world’s largest combined air services providers. With offices in the UK, USA, Australia and UAE, En Route supplies premium baked goods, meals, snacks and cheese to the travel industry. We focus on partnering with world-class manufacturers, customising products, and packaging to suit individual customer needs while managing a complex supply chain with the highest levels of precision

Job purpose

Reporting to the Head of Contracts Management, the Contracts Manager will support the oversight and management of all aspects of third-party logistics (3PL) contracts within the global organisation. The role will ensure that contracts are designed, negotiated, implemented, and maintained with consideration for the wider business requirement, and that contract lifecycles are managed effectively. You will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain operations and ensuring the smooth flow of goods and services

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with 3PL partners, acting as the point of contact for contract-related matters
  • Negotiate and draft contracts with 3PL providers, ensuring that terms and conditions align with our business objectives and comply with legal requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, procurement, operations, technical and legal, to ensure contract terms meet operational needs and mitigate risk
  • Monitor and evaluate contract performance, ensuring compliance with agreed upon service levels, key performance indicators, and contractual obligations
  • Identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities within existing contracts, and proactively work with stakeholders to implement necessary changes
  • Conduct regular contract reviews and audits to identify potential risks, issues, or non-compliance, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to 3PL contracts, and apply this knowledge to enhance contract management processes
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on contract-related matters, including dispute resolution, change management, and contract renewals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, ensuring proper record-keeping and adherence to internal policies and procedures
  • Undertake any further duties which may from time to time be assigned
  • This job description is not intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive but is issued as a general framework at the time of writing

Qualifications and training

  • CIPS or membership of another relevant chartered institute, preferable
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferable

Experience

  • Background in Contracts and engagements
  • Background in 3PL Management
  • Exemplary and demonstrable stakeholder management experience across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience of FMCG, desirable
  • Supply Chain, Logistics or Distribution experience, desirable
  • Import/Export experience, desirable

Knowledge and skills

  • Able to plan and organise your workload and agenda, managing priorities on the day to day within a yearly strategic roadmap
  • A creative thinker, willing to challenge existing processes and propose solutions
  • A great listener and a team player, easily able to put yourself in someone else shoes and consider different perspectives to define the best suite of actions
  • Strong in negotiation, balancing a willingness to collaborate with a clear understanding of what matters most versus which concessions may be acceptable

Personal Qualities

  • Ambition – anticipate, think, and dream big, demonstrating a high level of aspiration. Self-driven and show proactiveness, especially when seeing problems as challenges
  • Judgement – balance operational and strategic thinking, challenging the status quo and managing confrontation effectively. You reduce complexity to get things done
  • Resilience – always demonstrate purpose and ownership mindset but manage your energy well. You uphold positivity for others and persist, bouncing back when faced with obstacles.
  • Empathy – cooperate and network effectively, creating genuine and trustful relationships with diverse people. You understand and respect others feelings and motives
  • Learning agility – a self-motivated learner, showing self-awareness and demonstrating openness and curiosity. You experiment and learn from mistakes and past experiences, always showing courage and stepping out of your comfort zone. You support development of a high-performance culture
