The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) is responsible for all aspects of the supply chain including, planning, supplier development, cost negotiations, procurement, stores, export, and shipping.
The SCM’s role is to ensure the 5 key values below are consistently met:
* Customer satisfaction
* Realisation of sales targets
* Optimisation of business processes associated with the control of inventories, WIP and supply to manufacturing
* Optimisation of logistics costs
* Supplier performance
The role will report directly to the CFO at FNH UK, however will also have a functional link and responsibility to the VP of Operations at FN Herstal.
Duties to include, but not limited to:
Effective management of team ensuring communication and performance management.
Manage the entire lifecycle of sourcing and procurement projects, from planning and bid preparation to budget/forecasting, negotiation, invoicing and reporting.
Lead on the preparation and release of all customer quotations ensuring they have had input from all required functions, are accurate and can be delivered as stated.
Implement and maintain policies and procedures and ensure best practice procurement processes are continually developed.
Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs,
Develop and implement cost-based reduction strategies capable of delivering annual target savings.
Develop organisational goals and objectives to meet the annual business sales forecast.
Develop procurement strategies relating to all spend areas.
Develop and implement procedures or systems to evaluate and select suppliers.
Responsible, in conjunction with the Quality Director, for developing and implementing rules and management procedures that will aim to achieve the objectives of the supply chain, and be responsible for management settings in ERP and PLM software tools to optimise all data.
Develop and roll out a Supply Chain agreements with suppliers to include negotiating costs, lead-times ensuring they are based upon formal legal T&C’s.
Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows.
Develop and build a supply chain capable of delivering the desired service levels, at competitive cost and ensure suppliers are willing to invest in the strategy whilst meeting legislative requirements and achieve high quality outcomes and maintaining communication.
Create pricing plans for products and liaise with suppliers to reduce spend and remain competitive.
Manage supplier agreements by ensuring maintenance of a central register of contracts, pricing, details and documents.
Monitor the sales forecasts and identify changes that would have an impact on supply chain activities.
Responsible on behalf of the CEO and CFO for all Export licencing and shipping, and ensuring that the business meets all its legal obligations.
In conjunction with the CFO, develop robust processes that ensure business compliance with ITAR and Section 5 of The Firearms Act (As Amended).
Develop a strategy with key stakeholders on inventory management and manage and control inventory levels within agreed parameters and maintain accurate stock levels.
Control and co-ordinate the site-based stores function to ensure adequate control of stock levels and cost efficiencies against budget.
Develop procedures for co-ordination of supply chain management with other functional areas such as sales/business development, marketing, quality assurance and production.
Working with the Production Director, provide a weekly report that defines the utilisation of the FNH UK production assets, and what capacity is available to harness further work.
Working with both the FNH VP Operations and Group IT personnel, ensure that FNH UK are fully engaged, and thus set up and ready, for when the groups new ERP/MES solution is defined.
Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
Review and advise on all existing contracts and the successful delivery and fulfilment of these.
Draft contracts based on standard terms and conditions.
Support all tender submissions as required from the supply chain perspective as well as reviewing and advising on all contractual obligations and terms and conditions.
Oversee and report on business-critical supplier risk and assurance matters. Minimise risk to continuity of supply by carrying out supplier risk assessments and implementing corrective actions as required.
Responsible for regular forecasting demand to ensure on time supply. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against metrics for price, quality, delivery, and customer service.
Development and management of pre and post customer delivery KPI’s. Develop, measure and monitor KPIs for categories of expenditure through supplier reviews. Monitor compliance with supply agreements by requesting supplier reports.
Identify appropriate department KPI’s and measure and monitor performance against these.
Essential Skills:
You must be able to demonstrate a good track record as a logistics/supply chain manager within a fast pace operations environment.
A key part of this role will be the promotion of a team working spirit whilst maintaining strong leadership and discipline within the workplace. In order to achieve this you must be diligent, hard-working and honest in order to inspire these qualities in others and maintain the respect of long co-workers and team leaders.
Your role will be intrinsically linked to that of the production organisation, and your success will be directly linked to the relationship created and managed with this organisation.
A thorough understanding of ISO 9000 quality standards and accreditation is essential and knowledge of ISO 14001, Health and Safety (IOSH Managing Safely) and general 5S would be an advantage.
You must have a firm understanding of ERP principles and be able to demonstrate a number of years of working and developing ERP systems.
You will lead and be responsible for a system of continuous improvement (in agreement with the CFO) that delivers an on-going enhancement to both the internal and external supply chains, reporting the Companies capacity and maintenance of targets to the VP of Operations at FN Herstal.
You must be able to demonstrate expert knowledge in the use of MS Office.
Qualifications:
Must hold a CIPS or equivalent recognised qualification, in Procurement and Supply
