As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, your collaboration with students, teachers, and therapists is vital in crafting personalized support plans for each student. Your responsibilities include deploying strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and nurturing a safe learning environment. You will aid teachers in creating and executing engaging lessons tailored to the individual abilities, learning styles, and needs of the students. Moreover, you will offer consistent one-on-one and group support to students requiring additional assistance. In your role with SEMH students, you are tasked with monitoring their physical, social, and emotional well-being, ensuring a secure environment, and customizing your educational support to each student's distinctive needs.
Schools are in search of a committed and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant for both day-to-day and long-term roles. The ideal TA / Teaching Assistant should have the following:
Level 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational establishment

A thorough comprehension of child protection and safeguarding guidelines is essential.
Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
A calm, patient and caring persona
Effective behaviour management skills
