On behalf of DVLA, we are looking for a SOC Analyst (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based Hybrid/Swansea.

As a SOC Analyst your main responsibilities will be:
* Working within the Security Operations Centre as a cyber security / SOC analyst (this will entail a range of Tier 1 and Teir 2 SOC functions).
* Using a SIEM tool (Security Incident and Event Management) to assess security events, triage and respond as appropriate with little or no supervision. The SIEM tool in use at DVLA is LogRhythm, but experience and skills based on using other SIEM tools is likely to be transferrable.
* Evaluating impact of security relevant IT changes raised under change control.
* Undertaking various inspections and scans as directed. These will not require advanced skills but may require moving around and between DVLA sites.
* Assisting in evaluating and addressing email related issues involving Microsoft Exchange and M365.

Essential:

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
* Knowledge and experience of using SIEM tools
* Experience of leading and managing a SOC to monitor and log all access and activities, report on Cyber events and where required lead the Cyber Incident Response Plan.
* Assisting in evaluating and addressing email related issues involving Microsoft Exchange and M365.
* Knowledge of Clearswift Secure Email Gateway would be useful.
* Experience using or at least knowledge of the following tools/products would be useful: MS Defender, F5 Silverline WAF & Tuffin
* Experience of supporting forensic investigations would be advantageous,
