Questech Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity available to join one of our well established clients based in Bridlington. We are recruiting for an experienced Night Shift Team Leader to join out clients team on a permanent basis.
The purpose of this role is to implement the first line management of Line Leaders and the Production Team, process and quality, working closely with the Shift Production Supervisor. To have an understanding of the immediate health & safety of the Production Team, product safety and product quality.
Key Responsibilities (Not limited to this)
* To be responsible for the production of food in a manner that satisfies leading industry standards in all aspects of Food Quality, Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
* Organise resources according to the product, line and official manning levels. Lines or processes should be staffed to achieve optimum production efficiency and should not be over staffed unless authorised by a Shift Production Supervisor.
* To keep work area clean and tidy and encourage this within the team.
* Achieve the targets and job standards set by the Shift Production Supervisor.
* Comply with all legal and company food handling and hygiene requirements.
* Comply with and maintain health and safety requirements.
* To check and countersign production documentation, to validate that it is completed correctly, accurately and at the prescribed times required.
* To ensure that all staff work to prescribed methods, speed and quality.
* Address breaches of company policy and procedure with relevant employees and to ensure performance or behaviour is improved and good discipline is maintained.
* To ensure that hygiene and good housekeeping are to standard and that cleaning is undertaken as required to maintain high standards, adopting a “clean as you go” policy.
* To ensure that products are manufactured to internal or customer specifications.
* To ensure that product quality is maintained to at least internal or customer specification as a minimum.
* Ensure that any deviation to process, ingredient or proceduralised system is reported to a Shift Production Supervisor immediately and appropriate action taken. Where applicable, changes must be documented with a signed concession or deviation to run an alternative method by a Shift Production Supervisor.
* Ensure that waste is minimised and documented accurately and any major waste issues are reported to a Shift Production Supervisor immediately.
* Ensure that product weights are controlled within specification and any deviation is reported to a Shift Production Supervisor immediately.
* To ensure that Line Leaders and the Production Team are supported, shown relevant methods & processes and trained as required by approved standards and methods.
The Team Leader will report to a Shift Production Supervisor but will also have a functional relationship with the following:
* Line Leaders
* Hygiene
* QA
* Engineers
What you need:
- Good time keeping and attendance is essential.
- A good level of numeracy and literacy.
- Ability to follow and give instructions.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Successful completion of company induction, which includes basic food hygiene and health & safety.
- To have a good degree of manual dexterity.
- To adopt good manual handling practices as and when required.
- Excellent communication skills, to include verbal and written English.
- Experience of working in a production environment.
- Successful completion of training in relevant tasks.
- Supervisory/team leader skills.
- Knowledge of health & safety within the working environment.
- Ability to assess and improve performance of individuals and teams.
- Ability to negotiate and influence individuals and team members.
