Teaching Fellow in Midwifery

This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic and progressive midwifery education team at the University of Salford. We are looking for an experienced, ambitious and talented midwife to join a team of academics providing midwifery education. You will play a key role in the continued development and delivery of pre-registration undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, developing new and creative ideas to meet the demands of an ever-changing maternity and midwifery service.  You will have the opportunity to contribute across the spectrum of academic work in the School and we encourage applications from talented and creative midwives with significant clinical experience and/or an academic background.

To be considered for this role you must be registered as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.  Prior experience of teaching students at university level is beneficial but not essential.

  • Identify areas where current provision needs revision or enhancement.
  • Co-supervise student projects, including, where appropriate, PGT, field trips and placements.
  • Participate in external networks to share information and ideas and/or help identify potential sources of funding.
  • Contribute to the planning, design and development of course and curriculum objectives and material.
