W&A is partnering with a highly-regarded SME to help source a Finance Manager.

Based in East Lothian, the company operates a hybrid working model with 3 days per week in the office.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the role is responsible for efficiently delivering the day-to-day running of the finance team by line managing two staff.

This role will be key to improving the current processes in the business, with a view to enhancing data analysis and insight across the company.

The finance function faces-off to all areas of the company, as such the role will be involved in representing finance as part of inter-departmental strategic projects and initiatives.

Role Profile:

Preparation of monthly management accountsnManagement of monthly purchase ledger and payment runsnManagement of purchase and expenses systems and controlsnPreparing internal management information and reportingnEnhancing cash forecastingnAssisting with preparation of annual budgetnApproval of interim and final financial statementsnPreparation of schedules and supporting docs for annual statutory auditsnImproving controlsnAssisting with monthly financial analysisnAssisting with preparation of quarterly VAT returnsnContributing to and managing departmental risk registernPerforming daily reconciliations between internal and third party systems

Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Qualified accountant, ideally with some post-qualified experience in a similar remitnConfident with paperless / integrated work flows for approvals/paymentsnPrior experience of creating efficiencies and process improvementsnPrevious supervisory experiencenConfidence of working with finance, payments and banking systemsnProven MS Excel skills and practical experiencenCommercial mindsetnStrong attention to detail and ability to work to a high standard of accuracynContinuous improvement mindsetnComfortable with all forms of reconciliationnOrganisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasksnTeam worker with proactive flexible approachnGood communication, both written and oral
