Overview:
Reporting to their CEO & COO, their Business Development Manager is responsible for all sales of their company’s portfolio of products and services. Heading up the promotion of the full range of products and services to the general market, their Business Development Manager will deliver sales to targets and budgets in the defined sales area.
Their Business Development Manager is ultimately responsible for executing their company’s strategy for delivering sales to budget, development of new customers and working with their team to maximise sales opportunities to existing clients.
Their successful candidate will be responsible for the development, performance, and maintenance of tender process activities to obtain maximum efficiency, service, and profitability. You will be responsible for the whole tender process from receipt of enquiry from customers, through assessment and contract award.
As their Business Development Manager, you will be provided a number of leads on an ongoing basis that are inbound through our marketing efforts utilising PPC, SEO, and Email Marketing. They will also be expected to generate their own leads utilising data supplied by the business, as well as generating their own leads via cold calling businesses.
Their Candidate:
You will be able to communicate on all levels with prospective customers and colleagues.
You will successfully manage and deliver against individual and team sales targets with specified area of responsibility.
Monitor and act to close gaps against sales targets, and update forecast as required.
Understand customer’s business, their needs and goals and identify potential new business opportunities across their complete product portfolio.
Identify market and competitor activity, product and industry developments and feedback this information to management and other relevant functions.
Use market intelligence to open new channels of sales.
Identify and build relationships with appropriate decision-makers within customer organisations and manage sales negotiations.
Manage contract implementation where appropriate.
Provide performance reports and metrics and other data as required to customers and internally.
Experience:
New business development in a digital marketing/ecommerce agency (essential) - with proven ability to deliver consistently strong measurable results.
Extensive, proven people management experience in a team-orientated workplace.
Skills:
Outstanding interpersonal relationship-building and employee coaching and development skills.
Demonstrated ability to set up, lead and develop a department, with extensive staff management experience.
Must be very comfortable with continuously changing opportunities and priorities.
Strong analytical skills: including the ability to review performance results and make recommendations for future actions.
Strong financial and business acumen.
Self-motivated and able to motivate others in any given team.
Proven organisational and project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects, ability to meet deadlines, and strong attention to detail.
Other stuff:
£’s: OTE of approx. £70k (£40k basic + uncapped commission)
