Balfour Beatty VINCI is proud to be designing and building a 90KM stretch of the West Midlands section of HS2. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quality Engineer within the Quality Team.
This role will be based on site in Berkswell, Solihull.
With 13km of rural high-speed line Sublot 2B extends North from Dalehouse Embankment, through Warwickshire between Coventry and Kenilworth, Balsall Common and Burton Green to the River Blythe.
The strategy for Sublot 2B is to deliver the main structures enabling full connectivity across the two Network Rail corridor crossing – the Coventry to Leamington Spa Line and the West Coast Mainline at Carol Green.
While supporting the mass haul of materials from Sublot 2A to Sublot 2B and onward to Sublot 5 South.
The role aims to assist the Balfour Beatty Vinci joint venture, working on HS2 deliver a world class railway in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance.
Also responsible to assist the co-ordination, submission, compliance and management of all assurance activities and the resolution of assurance related issues
Experience required
• Experience of Major Civil Engineering projects, preferably tunnelling, railways.
• Extensive experience of construction in the UK Nuclear,Railway and Highways sector
• Knowledge and experience of working to UK and international standards and codes of practice for the UK Nuclear, Railway and Highways sector.
• Quality subject matter expertise and proven track record in Quality Management

Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway.. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quality Engineer (M&E) within the Route wide delivery team. This role will be based on site in locations around Kingsbury and Lichfield The northernmost site of the West Midlands stretch of HS2 runs from Water Orton to Lichfield. The sites are mainly rural and will link HS2 to the West Coast Mainline track.
Role description:
To lead the co-ordination, submission, compliance and management of all QA/QC activities and the resolution of QA/QC related issues on the M&E aspects of the Buildings. Submissions from the supply chain and establishing test and inspection for delivery of the works. Experienced required:
Experience of Major Engineering projects.
Knowledge and experience of working to UK and International Standards, and industry Codes of Practice.
A formal qualification in Quality Management and Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, e.g. Bachelor or Master’s Degree. 
NICEIC qualified and understanding of BS 7671 and Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specification. •
Strong background and experience in Fabrication, Welding and NDE to National and International standards.
Competent user of modern office computer systems e.g. Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
CSCS Card Holder / SMSTS.
