The Contractor Business Development Manager is responsible for building and managing relationships with tier 1 main contractors throughout the UK and Ireland. They will provide consultative advice on design and product solutions, assisting contractors in implementing compliant solutions based on Hikvision products. The ideal candidate will have previous consulting or Electronic security experience and possess strong commercial acumen.


Responsibilities:

  • Build a pipeline of new business through proactive engagement with assigned Tier 1 main contractors.
  • Secure influential support within the contractor market for Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Track the status and progress of each construction project from engagement to completion.
  • Identify and prospect tier 1 main contractors, building strong and sustainable relationships.
  • Deliver accredited CPD sessions to contractors.
  • Gain market insights, analyze potential trends and competitor activity to contribute to effective win strategies.
  • Qualify, develop, and maximize all opportunities for sales growth.
  • Represent the company at Industry Events and Exhibitions attended by Tier 1 main contractors.
  • Introduce products/solutions according to requirements and develop targeted introduction measures.
  • Produce system architecture diagrams detailing the installation of IP video surveillance, access control, and intercom systems.
  • Create effective proposals using corporate templates and standard resources.
  • Provide feedback on market trends and demand to improve company products and solutions.
  • Register new accounts and opportunities, managing project sales pipelines via the company’s CRM system.
  • Actively report progress, wins, and losses to the Senior Specifier Relations Manager.
  • Develop monthly sales forecasts.
  • Stay up-to-date with new products, solutions, and industry trends.


Person Specification:

  • Experience: Experience in Account Management or New Business Acquisition role selling Electronic Security Solutions. Proven track record of achieving sales targets. Experience pitching to contractor staff.
  • Knowledge and skills: Good knowledge of electronic security solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent presentation skills. Excellent organization and time management skills. Experience designing or understanding IP video surveillance, access control, and intercom systems.
  • Competences: Established network of main contractors. Ability to drive new business opportunities. Confident, self-motivated, collaborative. Strong attention to detail. Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
