The Consortium Project Manager role:
Harnessing the immune system to treat cancer has revolutionised survival outcomes for many patients. Immune checkpoint inhibitor therapies which unleash the brakes from immune cells to kill cancer cells, have become standard of care for many cancer subtypes. The success of existing, emerging and future immunotherapies and their routine use in the NHS is dependent on the appropriate tools, data and technology to rationalise their use and manage their side eects. Nevertheless, almost no biomarkers today can eectively distinguish responders from non-responders, predict toxicity, or guide treatment choices.
An exciting Consortium Project Manager position is available for MANIFEST, a newly formed ambitious multi-stakeholder consortium involving academic, industry and NHS partners to deliver deep multi-momic profiling for patients with cancer undergoing immunotherapy. The MANIFEST consortium represents a diverse group of UK-wide experts in cancer research and clinical care comprising major NHS trusts, academic institutes and universities, and industry partners. This grant is funded by the UK Office of Life Sciences (OLS) and the Medical Research Council (MRC).
The Consortium Project Manager will play a critical role, working with all consortium partners, to deliver on its goals and milestones. The role is most suitede to someone who has experience of of managing complex grants or projects, preferably within the scientific or pharmaceutical industry. The post will be based at the Crick in London, and will involve working closely with consortium partners throughout the UK.
Responsibilities of our Consortium Project Manager:
Your duties will include:
Act as programme manager for the MANIFEST consortium overseeing all day-to-day activities.

Act as the central point of communication for all academic, industry and NHS hospital partners and operational staff to ensure the smooth running of the programme.

Build positive, long-term relationships with all stakeholders including funders and current and future consortium partners.

Support the programme, providing oversight of project plans, timelines, and milestones to track progress in collaboration with scientists, clinicians and consortium members.

Identify project risk areas and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

The organisation of annual meetings and workshops in liaison with consortium partners.

Arrange Steering Committee and Science Advisory Board meetings.

Lead on effectively monitoring and reporting KPIs and programme outputs per grant requirements.
Skills and experience we are looking for in our Consortium Project Manager:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or substantial relevant experience.

Experience in the management of science and/or research projects in an academic, non-profit or pharmaceutical environment.

Programme management experience across the whole of the grant lifecycle, from project start-up, through to close-out and grant reporting.

Stakeholder management experience, particularly with scientific or pharmaceutical industry partners locally or internationally.

Experience in managing meetings with senior stakeholders, including setting agendas, taking minutes, and delivering on objectives.

The ability to monitor and analyse complex financial data and produce reliable and accurate financial reports as per the grant reporting requirements.

The ability to problem solve and work independently.

The ability to manage a heavy workload and prioritise competing demands.
