Established nearly 70 years ago, our client is a bespoke manufacturer and supplier of timber windows and doors sold on major projects across the UK. They also manufacture, supply and install timber fire doors and have a significant presence in London. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join the commercial team in London. You will work alongside existing colleagues in a collaborative manner to maximise the opportunities for business in London.
The commercial team is supported by a contract delivery team based in Northern Ireland and in London. The London team includes site managers, surveyors and supervisors all based in London. This role will be responsible for the development of excellent business relationships with both existing and new clients in the London area. This includes main contractors, housing associations and local borough councils.
Key Responsibilities:
* To meet agreed business targets
* Attract and retain suitable clients in private and public sectors. This includes Housing Associations, Main contractors and Planning Consultants.
* Develop, update and maintain a database of existing and potential business clients
* Coordinate and follow-up on existing leads and generate new leads in an effective and structured manner.
* Demonstrate the technical ability of the company to potential customers. This will require an understanding of the range of products/specifications they offer and includes supporting the development of relevant window and doors specifications with clients.
* Provide regular information to assist management with decision making, including forecasts, competitor profiles and market analysis.
The Candidate:
* It is essential that you have experience of selling windows and doors through the contractor route to market
* Experience of dealing with Local Authorities and Housing Associations
* Experience in establishing and maintaining successful customer partnerships
* Commercial acumen and an excellent understanding of public sector construction procurement
* Strong understanding of property development
* Computer literate
* Results focused with ability to work on own initiative
