You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and strategic direction to our Horticultural Operations. You will have the chance to focus on maximising the capabilities of our glasshouse systems, improving efficiencies, and driving down production costs. You will have the time to investigate and implement cutting-edge techniques within the controlled growing environment industry, ensuring our operations are sustainable and financially sound.
As Head of Horticulture, you will be the key driver behind our major capital expenditure projects, collaborating with engineering, technical, operations, commercial, and health & safety teams to ensure successful planning, implementation, and review. You will enjoy the cross functional nature of working through the building and maintaining of strong relationships with suppliers, industry bodies (such as the West Sussex Growers Association), customers, and other strategic stakeholders.
Your energy, as Head of Horticulture, in drive will support these core CAPEX projects to maximise the use of our 12 hectares of glasshouses, increase our drive for Peat Free growing, and to increase the circa 16 million potted herbs we produce annually.
As Head of Horticulture your key responsibilities will be:
- Leadership: Lead and direct the Growing teams to maximise the capabilities of the glasshouse systems.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement financially sound strategies for efficient operation and profitability of our glasshouses.
- Capital Planning: Create and manage our capital expenditure plan, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Technology Advancement: Stay abreast of and incorporate the latest technological advancements.
