The Opportunity
Due to continuous project expansion, our client is offering you the chance to join this company as an experienced Mechanical Engineer- Responsible person and be part of the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield. This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. The Role
As the Mechanical Engineer - Responsible Person will lead a team of Engineers in the delivery of projects to time, cost and quality. You will be responsible for defining, implementing and delivering specified functional work that achieves safety, functional, legislative and business requirements.
You will be reporting to the Project Engineering Manager / Nominated Engineer depending on the complexity of the project assignment.
Warrington (hybrid working).
Your duties and responsibilities will be 
To lead a team of discipline engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of specified functional work that achieves safety, functional, legislative and business requirements.
To set the assurance strategy ensuring correct stakeholder buy in at the correct time including all required design reviews, assistance reviews and any other assurance activities.
The Mechanical Engineer - Responsible Person will collaborate in the selection and development of optimised, balanced and practical design solutions balancing aspects of safety and environmental performance, operational effectiveness and constructability. They will ensure that SQEP competent resources are used to prepare, check and approve design work packages.
To carryout effective and proportionate risk management and assurance activities including to call functional engineering or design capability reviews, especially in relation to novel techniques or solutions which carry significant financial, technical, design or programme risk.
To collaborate in the selection and development of optimised, balanced and practical design solutions balancing aspects of safety and environmental performance, operational effectiveness and constructability.To ensure that SQEP competent resources are used to prepare, check and approve design work packages.You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience
Qualified Chartered Engineer.
At least 8 years of experience in relevant Project design work
Experience of Front End Engineering Design, Options generation and down selection.
