The Opportunity
Due to projects continuing to ramp up, our client is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to become responsible for all mechanical handling processes, where you will support our client’s nuclear UK fleeting business.
Estimated Duration- 12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
The role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed design drawings, calculations, design control plans, validation and verification plans, designers risk assessments, and quality plans.
Security clearance details
Basic clearance required, SC would be preferable
The successful candidate can commence work with BPSS and partner IT, whilst SC, P1 / P4 is in process and SL IT is being requested.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear industry.
Experience delivering safe, fit-for-purpose, fully integrated and operable design solutions that meet product requirements.
Qualified and experienced user of Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
Experience producing design deliverables such as product requirements specifications, technical reports, calculations, technical drawings, installation method statements, risk assessments and
design substantiation.
Experience of mechanical piping design with knowledge of the relevant design standards and legislation, e.g., ASME B31.3, PER and PSSR.
Familiarity with machine design and mechanical handling, with knowledge of the relevant design standards and legislation e.g., The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations, LOLER, and PUWER.
Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable British and ISO Standards.
Ability to liaise with stakeholders across a wide range of specialist areas and at all levels from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Experience working in an integrated, multi-disciplinary design delivery team
Peer review/checking of reports, drawings (proposal & detail drawings) and supporting calculations.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ design delivery experience OR other qualification such as HNC and HND, with 5 or more years design delivery experience.
Qualifications to demonstrate training has been undertaken for Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.It’s great If you also have the following
Experience working within an asset care delivery function on operational facilities, with experience supporting the implementation of asset care projects during.
Construction/installation/commissioning and responding to Engineering Queries and Fault Observations.
Experience of using AutoCAD.
Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable Sellafield Practices, Processes, Engineering Standards, and Engineering Guides.Get in touch now
