The Opportunity
Due to increased project expansion, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join a UK leading engineering consultancy at the forefront of a safety-first approach, where you will be responsible for producing and contributing to a variety of mechanical deliverables.
Contract Estimated Duration – 12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
Your duties and responsibilities will be
The scope of the waste project is to create a new route to support future decommissioning activities on Sellafield.
The Mechanical scope is to enable import of the waste into an existing facility which includes creation of a new shielded flask design, transporter and modifications to existing facility as required.
As Senior Mechanical Designer you will be required to produce and contribute to a variety of mechanical deliverables such as DPDs, MFDs, GAs, designers Risk Assessments, O&Ms etc. You will also be expected to present designs to the wider project team.Other requirements will be to help deliver mechanical work scope, production and checking, reporting to a Senior / Principal Engineer. You will need to produce drawings using AutoCAD/Inventor software (including familiarity with Inventor Vault).
You will have the following qualifications and experience
Experienced user of AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor.
Strong experience creating DPDs, MFDs, Gas.
Experience of concept design stages.
HNC / HND or equivalentIt's great if you also have the following
Creation of supporting documentation, Risk Assessment, O&Ms, Specifications.
Demonstrate strong leadership behaviours to drive timely delivery of an engineering schedule to quality and cost.
Experienced in delivering work for SL (preferred).
Design and delivery of Shielded Nuclear Flasks.
Design of lifting equipment / fabrications.Security Clearance: You will be required to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) to start and SC-Clearance at a later date.
