Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established consultancy firm based in Peterborough, dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable planning and architectural solutions.
My client are currently seeking a Senior Town Planner to join our talented team. This role is ideal for an experienced planner looking to take the next step in their career, with opportunities to work on a wide range of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
Planning Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of planning strategies that align with client goals, local planning frameworks, and national regulations.
Project Leadership: Manage and coordinate planning projects from concept to completion, ensuring that all projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
Development Proposals: Prepare and submit high-quality planning applications, ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.
Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and ensuring their objectives are met through tailored planning solutions.
Stakeholder Liaison: Engage with local authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders to facilitate positive outcomes for planning applications and development projects.Qualifications and Experience
Education: Degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not essential.
Professional Accreditation: Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning role, with a proven track record in managing complex planning projects.
Skills:
Strong understanding of UK planning regulations and policy frameworks.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
Proficient in planning software and tools, with experience in GIS and design software being advantageous.
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
