About the job
We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our Collections team in Manchester city centre. Reporting to the Collections Team Lead, you'll be responsible for protecting our revenue through effective negotiation and cash collection within your ledger. You will communicate with our customers through inbound and outbound calls, and emails; providing excellent customer service whilst working to clear our retailers overdue accounts. The role is process driven and daily tasks will be distributed amongst the team, so it's important that you enjoy managing numerous tasks simultaneously. You will also work with teams across the business to ensure you have all you need to create mutually beneficial partnerships with our customers.
Whilst we use a system driven process, each of our customers are different so you will need to have an individual approach and will have the confidence to use your own judgement to make decisions regarding their accounts. Conversations that involve money can be fuelled by emotion so you will need to be influential, and able to handle objections whilst maintaining a great customer experience. You might believe that a passion for cars is a requirement, but guess what? It's not At Auto Trader, you're welcome just as you are.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a B2B credit control/collections role
- Ability to handle difficult conversations and confidently make informed decisions
- Ability to build and develop positive relationships with stakeholders and customers of all levels
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Great organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
- Capable navigating Microsoft Excel for daily/monthly reports

We're offering a salary between £25,000 and £28,000 dependent on experience and a flexible benefits package to support your health and wellbeing.
