Job Description

Scope

As the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Analyst at Abcam you will work closely with the RPA team and relevant stakeholders to deliver automation at abcam that will inform and accelerate our business worldwide across all business functions. The RPA Analyst will act as a bridge between the business and the technical team, mapping out business processes, gathering and communicating requirements, and reviewing technical solutions. You will work closely with cross functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of RPA solutions that meet the needs of our users and sponsors. This role requires strong communication and stakeholder management skills, process mapping skills and an understanding of RPA technologies and best practices.

Robotic Process Automation Team

We are a part of Data & Analytics (D&A) within abcam's Digital department who act as innovation incubator, enabling analysts to build solutions that enhance data informed decisions. The knowledge, tools and mindset we provide allow abcam to leverage data as competitive advantage and drive business success.

The RPA team is the core capability for automation at abcam and is vital to the acceleration of business processes to drive business value in areas such as time to market or customer satisfaction.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to identify and prioritise automation opportunities
  • Create detailed process documentation, including process flows, standard operating procedures, and system requirements, to support the development and implementation of RPA solutions.
  • Work closely with the RPA team to recommend suitable RPA solutions to streamline workflows and enhance productivity
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to assess the potential impact of RPA implementation on business operations.
  • Create test cases to enable rigorous testing of delivered RPA solutions before deployment.
  • Own the end-to-end RPA project process, including process identification, requirements gathering, initial documentation, project management and status reporting, user acceptance testing, sign-off and benefits realisation
  • Collaborate with multiple abcam Digital teams to integrate RPA solutions with existing systems, applications, and databases and ensure security and governance.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users to ensure smooth adoption and effective utilization of RPA solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed RPA solutions, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary enhancements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest RPA trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of RPA development methodologies and practices at abcam
  • Deputise for the Automation Product Manager where required.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience (2+ years) as a Business Analyst working in agile-led digital and/or technology projects
  • Proficiency in process mapping and analysis techniques, including process flow diagrams, swimlane diagrams, and value stream mapping.
  • An understanding of business process automation concepts and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify automation opportunities and design effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • An interest in emerging technologies and their application to modern business.
