This covers all patients regardless of where they are on the pathway.


The post holder will be responsible for validating data for patients on the Maternity pathways, which includes investigating errors, correcting records and updating services on what actions need to be taken.

They will be required to collect and interpret data from a variety of sources and data systems, within and external to the Trust.


Where appropriate the post holder will alert the assistant service manager of inconsistent data recording or performance issues so that corrective action can be taken to avoid unnecessary delays in patient care.

They will undertake detailed patient level validation and liaison with both administrative and clinical teams to obtain and record accurate information for monitoring purposes.

The post holder must work with mínimal direct supervision and be self-motivated.

  • To have a full and deep understanding of both national and local policies relating to Ockendon, CNST, MMBRACE and Saving babies lives.
  • Ensure that this specialist knowledge is kept up to date and changes in legislation and local policy are communicated effectively within the Organisation, this includes communicating complex information to groups to ensure consistency with regulations.
  • Be able to train and support new starters on internal databases and pathways
  • Validation of Patient Tracking Lists (MTL's) in line with local and national guidance
  • Resolving delays in the pathway at the earliest opportunity and implement any changes required. Where this is not possible, escalate issues in accordance with service procedures
  • Meet personal targets for validation volumes and accuracy, as agreed with the Elective Lead
