Come and join our Modelling and Analysis team, a crucial part of the Operational Delivery function. We deliver supply chain systems modelling, data analysis and data visualisation, supporting the operational platforms used across Defence.

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior Management Information Developer to join our team.

You will be leading the technical design and development of Power BI dashboards, bringing data to life through visualisation, enabling more effective and efficientdecision making across the Ships domain enterprise.


You will interface with multiple Industrial partners to source Management information (MI), forming a coherent view of 'one set of numbers' and generate useful Management Information on operational and commercial performance to support decision making byour senior stakeholders.

You will be leading stakeholder focus group activities, requiring you to present analytical outputs to customer community and by maintaining customer feedback on MI Tools, adapt and enhance them to optimise capability and ensure MITool meets or exceed User requirements.

This role is based in offices in Bristol and an in-office attendance will be expected as required.

Responsibilities for Power BI Developer
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and the support community to present the data 'story' in a meaningful way.
  • Identify trends and implementing appropriate action plans to advise management decisions, whilst ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Teach, mentor, and grow analysts by adopting sophisticated methodologies and techniques.
  • Direct and prioritise team tasks to ensure that customers' timelines are met and in are line with business Key Performance Indicators.

Person specification

  • A consistent record of delivering complex Modelling and Analysis using data analysis techniques and effective data visualisations, by utilising Power BI software.
  • Relevant experience in supply chain management and/or logistics
  • Strong IT literacy (MS Office 365), numeracy and English language skills.
  • Experience of operating at management level in a similar organisation.
It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:

  • Knowledge of the Defence logistics environment.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop less experienced colleagues both formally and informally.
