DE&S/SDA Commercial Officer Role

As a Commercial Officer with DE&S, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of defence procurement programmes with real-world impact. Our team of around 1,000 people works together to equip and support the UK's armed forces, ensuring compliance and best value in our programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and negotiate Invitation to Tender documentation, terms, pricing, and contract placement up to £2.5M in accordance with Ministry of Defence policy.
  • Support the development of new Procurement Strategies through market analysis and collaboration with other teams in DE&S.
  • Lead and/or assist in portfolio management of Category A – D contracts, ensuring contract obligations are met in line with the contract and business requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance management in accordance with Contract Management Plans.
  • Contribute to wider Commercial function and business improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage staff where required, advising, coaching, and developing Commercial Assistants.
Requirements
  • Experience in sourcing and/or managing contracts.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to use IT systems and programmes.
