Who you'll be supporting & more about the role: This exciting opportunity is to manage a service in Hounslow, and to attend regular meetings at other services and offices too.(due to these locations, it is desirable that you are a driver and have your own transport) You will lead a team of experienced and passionate support workers, to deliver 24hour assistance to the wonderful people that live at the service. The people we support have a variety of support needs, including Epilepsy, Downs Syndrome, Verbal, Visual and Learning Difficulties, Autism, Bipolar, Dementia, and five out of seven mobilise with wheelchairs. So your teams are trained in moving and positioning, medication, epilepsy, buccal midazolam, autism, as well as the care certificate.
You will also have experience working with people supported who present behaviours that require intensive support planning and management to ensure their safety and quality of life at all times.
In addition you will be comfortable using basic IT systems that are required within the role - training can be offered to support this area. You will also hold a professional qualification in Health and Social Care, i.e. Nurse, Social Worker, SVQ Level 3 plus supervisory units (Scotland) / Care Management Level 3 (England). With experience working in a health or social care setting, you will have an upbeat positive manner, as well as having a genuine passion for supporting people to become a part of their local and wider community.
