Job Introduction:


We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Management Team Leader to join our team to lead the material control team ensuring the plan and call-off of packaging materials are delivered for the bottling plans and that suppliers are achieving agreed targets in an efficient and cost effective manner.


Main Responsibility:

  • Plan and manage calloff of annual volumes on packaging material to deliver the production plan, whilst working within agreed days of stock and inventory value targets
  • Oversee and work closely with internal stakeholders to review and interpret proposed vendor schedules, to ensure operational viability.
  • Manage all required amendments to schedules, escalating all supply issues via the WGW and S&OP framework and ensuring all supply gaps are addressed and closed
  • Manage day to day relationship with material suppliers, ensuring the team liaise with them on a regular basis to identify any potential issues and ensure capacity is available to meet demand
  • Lead the continuous improvement agenda in Material Management to deliver plans that manage master data, reduce shortages, and increase efficiency balancing cost, inventory, and service
  • Develop professional and productive relationships across the OBU to support operational performance and ensure that accurate and relevant information is shared in a timely manner.
  • Provide input to the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) scorecard process and lead functional discussions including continuous improvement in service during SRM meetings.
  • Produce and manage the reporting of material inventory to the senior leadership team capturing aged inventory and DOS with key risks and opportunities/action plan identified.
  • Maintain a proper process framework and detailed process documentation with the appropriate governance structure.
  • Participate in projects to integrate new Business or develop new brands as required to ensure delivery on time in full to agreed demand.
  • Proven track record of successfully defining and implementing Material Planning & Control, preferably in a drinks or FMCG environment.
  • ERP/MRP system knowledge and experience of Advanced Planning systems
  • Ability to set objectives and manage suppliers and proven success in relationship building, and managing performance.
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret Planning information.
  • Delivered Service Level Agreements with Suppliers including KPI management & feedback.
  • Contract negotiation
  • Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement techniques
