Compliance Officer required for an immediate start for a period of around 4 months.

Job role


You will be responsible for auditing the organisations compliance in relation to safeguarding amongst the workforce of staff and volunteers.


  • To create sustainable and intuitive ways of tracking compliance in relation to safeguarding and safer recruitment practice.
  • Producing guidance notes, advisory documents templates and contribute to policy development.
  • Produce and deliver a safer recruitment action plan to address noncompliance and enhancements to existing practice.
Main Duties

  • Take advice from and work in collaboration with the in house safeguarding group and the Safeguarding Officers.
  • Produce a full audit report initially to the Human Resources Manager and subsequently to various groups including the Safeguarding Executive Group and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Produce and implement an action plan to rectify areas of noncompliance and enhancements to existing practice.
  • Work with the HR Manager to create a sustainable tracking system utilising current resources where necessary and automating appropriately.
  • Drafting sections of policy, creating templates or other toolkit items for use by teams and other guidance, advisory notes or similar.
  • Promote and champion safer recruitment throughout the Cathedral and arrange suitable training.
This role is based in central Canterbury and offer full time hours Monday - Friday
