Some of your role will include the need to:

  • Joint work with the CAMHS locality team of professionals in team meetings and supporting their therapeutic work with children and young people.
  • Foster and maintain good working relations with the integrated Community Mental Health Teams and other services.
  • Work within the Clinical Support Team across the Mid Cornwall Locality.

  • Work with children, young people and their carers to access identified services.
  • Monitor mental health and be aware of fluctuations in mental health through observations and report changes to the team practitioners so that service users are directed to appropriate services and risk is managed.
  • Encourage social/physical activities as appropriate to their needs.
  • Participate in safeguarding children level 2 as set out in Safeguarding Children &

Young People:
roles and competencies for Health Care Staff.

  • Participate in Safeguarding Adults as per Trust Policy

The CAMHS locality teams have been developing over the last 3 years to provide a truly holistic and integrated approach to child and adolescent mental health care.

We are now looking to expand our team further, and are looking for a dynamic and solution focused individual who is passionate about high quality care for children and young people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

You will be outcomes driven and work seamlessly across the CAMHS locality team and wider service.

The post will be based at Shaw House, Porthpean Road, St Austell.

We are looking for individuals with personal qualities that enable them to function effectively in what can be a challenging environment; with high levels of passion and enthusiasm for providing high quality support within children and young people's mental health services.

You will need to provide indirect and direct clinical support to young people accessing CAMHS via the CAMHS Locality Team with guidance from the qualified staff.

You will promote child protection/safeguarding and integrative multi-agency working
- ensuring best practice is embedded into the culture and philosophy of the organisation.

CAMHS is a wonderful service in which to work which is highly rewarding, and is seeing further transformations and expansions across the Service Line which all attribute to an ever improving service offer for the Children and Young People of Cornwall.

We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We are a people organisation and people matter to us.

As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.

Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals.

Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.

Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
