Automation Engineer – Cumbria – In-house/End-User – Staff – £50-55k + 9% matched pension

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Automation Engineer to work for a Cumbrian based specialist machine manufacturing company. One of the main aspects of the role is PLC programming and fault-finding on existing PLC code – this is an essential requirement.

Key aspects of the Automation Engineer role include

  • Support the engineering team with PLC & systems fault finding
  • System/PLC faults are rectified and route cause identified
  • Responsibility for site electrical drawings and schematics
  • Support the engineering team in delivering Continuous Improvement projects and process improvements
  • Assess risks in relation to control systems e.g. PLCs and necessary contingencies for failure or upgrade.
  • Creation of new PLC programs and software updates when required
  • Support the maintenance team in maintaining the plant and equipment to agreed standards
  • COMPEX knowledge – desirable, not essential, training will be arranged if needed
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics – desirable, not essential, training will be arranged if needed
  • 25 days holidays (includes 4 days to be taken at Christmas) + 8 Bank Holidays

  • Up to 9% matched pension

The company is commutable from places in Cumbria such as Carlisle, Penrith, Keswick and Maryport.
