Reporting directly to the Consultant Paramedic for Urgent Care they will ensure that all EMS clinicians have the necessary and effective clinical supervision of their practice, work within an aspirational career framework and ensure that the organisations clinical development needs are recognised and accounted for.

Main duties of the job

This individual will take a leading role in the development of all levels of practice, and more specifically those classed as enhanced and advanced, ensuring the required infrastructures to support its continued development and ensuring that ambulance clinicians are well versed in the professional requirements that allow practice to develop and flourish. The Professional Development Lead will ensure the maintenance of their own clinical skills, knowledge and practice through regular patient contact and clinical care delivery in a wide range of settings, principally focused around the emergency medical service. The post-holder will be expected to analyse and interpret national and local guidelines and procedures to inform the growth of clinical professions across urgent care through the development of a robust, well governed, and aspirational career framework.

Qualifications

Essential

Masters in Advanced Practice. Paramedic with current HCPC registration Independent Prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake upon appointment

Desirable

Post Graduate Qualification in Leadership & Management A thorough working knowledge of current issues in the NHS, especially drivers relating to integration of emergency and urgent care

Experience

Proven experience of patient care in an emergency and unscheduled care setting Experience of delivering results and managing multiple, complex and competing priorities within defined timescales/parameters
