Charlie House is a locally based children's charity which engages in activities and projects to support children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, in North-east Scotland.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, part-time Market Assistant.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the retail sector for and on behalf of Charlie House whilst liaising with external local stallholders.

This role is based within the Curated Aberdeen Market, within the Bon Accord Centre and may also include occasional additional shifts at our other retail/café venues.

You will play a key role in sharing the Charlie House story with stallholders and customers, and how their support makes a real difference to local families we support.


Role purpose
To ensure all customers receive the best experience when visiting Aberdeen Curated Market, in a friendly and welcoming environment.


You will meet and greet customers, always representing and promoting the Curated Market and Charlie House in a professional manner.


Responsibilities

  • Working at Curated Market Bon Accord on Saturdays (9am 6pm) & Sundays (10.30am 5.30pm) plus occasional Fridays as a key holder to open the business unit and work with the volunteers on the Charlie House stand
  • Liaising with external market stall holders
  • To pass on any new ideas generated by yourself, market stall holders or customers to line manager
  • Prioritise customer service, engagement and expediently resolve any stallholder or customer queries
  • Supervise Cafe Hosts and Volunteers
  • Work in any other retail/cafe venues when required

Desired experience

  • Retail Experience /Café Experience
  • Computer literate with good Excel/Word understanding
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Cash Handling
