The difference you'll make
Support customers to learn about the most practical tasks in and around the home. Help to design and run life skills workshops taking in to account a diverse range of need and ability. Mentor customers around simple day to day home maintenance issues. Actively involve customers in the regular building Health and Safety checks, and other customer participation in the service.

So, who are you?
Experience of working with a vulnerable client group, including those experiencing mental health issues. An understanding of the person-centred approach. A practical understanding of basic household maintenance. The ability to work with customers in both a one to one and group setting

Role Profile


The focus of the job is supporting customers to engage in all aspects of life skills activity and community engagement, and preparation for a successful move to lower supported or independent accommodation.

You will be working as part of team and supporting the activities and move-on coordinators and key workers.

You will be asked to:

  • Support customers to learn about the most practical tasks in and around the home.
  • Help to design and run life skills workshops taking in to account a diverse range of need and ability
  • Mentor customers around simple day to day home maintenance issues
  • Actively involve customers in the regular building Health and Safety checks, and other customer participation in the service.
  • Assist customers with budgeting for current needs and looking ahead to budgeting to purchase goods for their new homes, and budgeting so that they can manage their new accommodation.
  • Support customers to go out and about, attend appointments and develop community links.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience of working with a vulnerable client group, including those experiencing mental health issues.
  • An understanding of the personcentred approach
  • A practical understanding of basic household maintenance
  • The ability to work with customers in both a one to one and group setting
  • Reasonable IT skills.
