  • Support residents to take control of their lives and to maximise their inclusion and participation in the community according to their needs, wishes and preferences.
  • Support residents to manage their health and wellbeing and to provide personal care where appropriate.
  • To attend Staff meetings, probation review meetings, training sessions and to contribute to the promotion of good practice across the service. To chair these meetings as requested by the registered Manager.
  • Attend and participate in all statutory training and updates.
  • To lead designated shifts as identified on the Rota and to supervise the Staff complement provided for that shift.
  • To carry out handover procedures at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • To carry out all aspects of the administration of residents medication in accordance with each residents' Care Plan.
  • To carry out various Service Management activities as delegated by the Registered Manager, e.g. induction, achievement of Staff development goals, rota management, residents care, Health and Safety.
  • Control the ordering and administration of drugs within the Care Centre and maintain the necessary records as and when required by the regulatory authorities.
  • To carry out all aspects of the administration of residents medication in accordance with each residents' Care Plan.
  • For ensuring that residents are treated with dignity and respect in all aspects of their lives.
  • Taking personcentred approaches to supporting residents (when in doubt seek help or advice, be available to offer advice to other members of the team when required).
  • Meeting the requirements of Company policies and procedures.
  • Implement, develop and follow residents Care Plans.
  • Ensuring the protection of vulnerable adults procedures are followed as a primary consideration.
  • Reporting concerns or raising questions when in doubt and liaise with On-Call or Head Office functions where appropriate.
  • Ensure that quality standards are maintained and to drive for continuous improvement at all times
  • To share accountability for creating a Shift Plan and ensuring that the actions of the Shift Plan are carried out through delegation of tasks to competent persons. This includes ensuring adequate shift cover for the current shift and providing cover for unforeseen shift shortages (e.g., where Staff may have called in sick).
  • For ensuring the accurate and safe administration of residents Medication for the designated shifts.
  • Shared accountability for accurate and informative shift handover records for the designated shifts.
  • To support residents with all aspects of their Care Plan and Care Guidelines.
  • Where appropriate, support residents with their personal care needs (washing, dressing, toileting, dental care, etc.).
  • Support residents to develop skills to enable them to manage their daily lives.
  • Where appropriate support residents with food preparation.
  • To communicate with residents using all appropriate methods and to actively listen to their views, decisions and choices.
  • Support residents to achieve planned goals and personal outcomes.
  • Support residents to be at the centre of any planning about their lives.
  • Support residents to become active and valued members of the community.
  • Participate in residents' holidays, as agreed with the Service Manager.
  • Support residents to develop problem solving skills.
  • Support residents in line with their behavioural guidelines.
  • Proactively support residents to access leisure, education and employment opportunities in accordance with their wishes and needs and to access the community facilities of their choice.
  • Support residents to make complaints or report any concerns.
  • Respect residents' privacy, property, home, dignity and choice.
  • Assist residents to develop and maintain relationships with their family and friends.
  • Use emergency services and medical support services where appropriate.
  • Manage On-Call support where appropriate as agreed with registered Manager.
  • To be a Key Worker or Co-Key Worker with a designated residents.
  • To create a shift plan, delegate responsibilities and to ensure that the plan is followed through the use of effective communication and supervision of the Staff complement on shift.
