Main duties of the job:

  • To support and administer Clinical Systems such as eRS, Cerner Back Office and PAS.
  • Be able to manage the setup of new clinics, theatre sessions, clinicians and other Cerner Back Office functions in line with business needs following the correct procedures.
  • Support the maintenance of ADHOC/Template tracker, Document Collection Worksheet (DCW) and data quality within the local system.
  • Understand the Trust's operational processes and workflows and ensure that the PAS/eRS/ Back Office systems support these functions on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are maintained and applied in the PAS/eRS/ Back Office systems.
  • Ensure that any logged incidents, problems and changes are registered on the local IT Service Desk system.
  • Ensures all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures in these systems.
  • To help establish and maintain local procedures and processes for the maintenance of service.
  • Play a role in the testing/review of the templates running in the Trust, helping to reduce negative impact in the services.

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent

  • Evidence of continuing personal development

Experience:

Essential criteria:

  • Experience of providing operational knowledge to support development of strategies and implementation plans.
  • Experience of promoting good practice to ensure the highest standards of conduct
  • Experience of working in OAC with highly developed skills in all processes
  • Experience of managing waiting lists
  • Understanding of confidentiality, data protection requirements and the frameworks set out in the NHS Information Governance Toolkit

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience of contributing to development and maintenance of policies, procedures and day to day working practices.
  • Experience managing implementation of cross organisation support

Skills and aptitude:

  • Ability to engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and to work with them to ensure needs are met
  • Ability to achieve targets and standards through personal endeavour and the efforts of others
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to set personal objectives and identify personal development needs
  • Knowledge of internal policies and guidelines for upholding data quality standards and meeting national waiting time targets
  • Ability to identify and report issues effectively.
  • Ability to provide advice and support for adoption and operation of Elective Access directives and standards.
  • Expertise in effective use of patient management and clinical systems.
