We are recruiting for two exceptional individuals to join us as Laboratory Teaching Technicians, within our D'Arcy Thompson Unit, to support our practical class teaching.

Your priorities will include:
  • As part of a technical support team you will be involved in the preparation, delivery and development of practical class sessions.
  • Organise, set out and clear up practical class experiments.
  • Demonstrate and give advice to students during the practical classes on Health and Safety, laboratory techniques and use of equipment.
  • Write and update risk assessments and chemical hazard databases
  • Give advice on Health and Safety to personnel entering the laboratory and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and laboratory rules are followed.
Who we're looking for:
  • HNC in relevant science subject or equivalent.
  • Significant practical experience of working in a teaching laboratory.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and working within Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
