Assistant Management Accountant

Are you a meticulous and motivated Assistant Management Accountant seeking a fresh challenge? We are on the lookout for a dedicated professional with a keen eye for financial accuracy and business support to join our team. As an Assistant Management Accountant, reporting directly to the Financial Controller, your role will be crucial in maintaining financial records, processing payments, and generating internal financial reports. Key Responsibilities:
- Timely completion of monthly Branch payrolls, management accounts preparation, payment runs, and VAT reporting.
- Reconciliation of balance sheets and intercompany transactions.
- Oversight of Accounts Administrators and supervision of sales and purchase ledger processing.
- Handling month-end adjustments, including processing accruals and prepayments.
- Monitoring the finance inbox and dealing with queries promptly.
- Aiding in VAT return production and managing Accountable transactions.
- Generating labour utilisation, sales graphs, and other operational management reports.
- Filling in for colleagues' absence and taking on extra responsibilities when necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and performing other assigned duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting systems, Sage Intacct experience preferred.
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Technical accounting knowledge and experience in multi-entity accounting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to elucidate financial matters to non-finance colleagues.
- Detail-oriented, introspective, and proactive with a structured problem-solving approach.
- Efficient time management and goal-oriented delivery.
- Team player capable of supervising and aiding other team members.
- Dynamic, adaptable, and keen on empowering others and enhancing processes.
