We are seeking a part-time Class Assistant who is great with children, with the potential to train and progress into a full-time Children's Martial Arts Instructor.

This role offers a promising career path in children's martial arts instruction.


As a Class Assistant, your training will involve teaching fundamental classes to children aged 3 to 5 years under the supervision and direction of a member of the instructor team.

Your ability to connect with and engage children will be a vital aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the instructor with class preparation, execution, and wrapup as needed, focusing on children's needs and ensuring a fun, engaging experience.
  • Follow appropriate class content and structure, integrating warmups, cooldowns, and martial art technique demonstrations tailored to young learners.
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with and inspiring children aged 3 and up.
  • Uphold the company's ethos during working hours, maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and respectful attitude that resonates with children.
  • Maintain discipline within the class using ageappropriate methods.
  • Wear a clean, smart Class Assistant uniform during working hours.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the full range of products and services to address customer inquiries effectively, with a focus on children's programs.
  • Nurture and grow existing and new customers through planned individual membership progression tracks, product and service promotion, and collaboration with internal staff.
  • Distribute products, messages, and forms to members as needed, ensuring childfriendly communication.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with colleagues, parents, and carers.
  • Prepare for and accurately record grading progressions for children.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with other company functions to support duties and contribute to business and organizational growth.
  • Monitor customer attendance, paying special attention to children's engagement and follow up as necessary.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy workspace within allocated or shared areas, ensuring a childsafe environment.
  • Assist with other business aspects, such as marketing campaigns targeted at children, when requested.
  • Attend training and events to further develop relevant knowledge and skills related to working with children.
This list is not exhaustive and may evolve to align with the changing needs of the business.

We are looking for a team member who can effectively contribute to the development of both club members, with a special focus on our young learners, and the club itself.


Required Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 2:30 pm 5:30 pm
  • Gradual transition to fulltime hours upon qualification
  • Additional hours may be required for promotional events and workshops

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills ability to interact effectively and courteously with a diverse range of people, with a focus on children and their caregivers
  • Demonstrated experience in exceptional training or teaching, including patience, understanding, and organizational abilities when working with children
  • Capability to follow class plans that cater to young learners
  • Adherence to procedures, guidelines, and targets or deadlines

£12.00-£90.00 per hour
