We are looking for an experienced communications professional to join our Communications Team as the Senior Communications Manager in the UK . Working closely with a high-performing in-house internal and external communications team and our agency partners, the role offers a unique opportunity to help shape storytelling across earned and owned media at the intersection of society and technology during a period of significant technological progress.

The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with a range of stakeholders to create and execute a corporate communications strategy aligned to global storytelling priorities and local business needs and focused on agenda setting editorial coverage with UK media. They will develop thought leadership to position Microsoft at the forefront of the AI era and create compelling stories that build trust in Microsoft and our innovations and the impact they have for our customers. They will be responsible for managing reactive issues that may affect our reputation, will work closely with philanthropies, corporate external and legal affairs and support local leadership with strategic communications.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in corporate communications and media relations, with extensive experience in a similar role. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution. They will have the ability and experience in stakeholder engagement and communications counsel at all levels of an organisation and a passion for the positive impact of technology. They should also have a deep understanding of the digital landscape and be able to identify and capitalise on opportunities to drive engagement with key audiences and work as an external communications advisor to the country leadership team. They should also be curious about how AI will reshape Communications.

Qualifications

Media Relations experience, active relationships with key UK journalists and influencers – Technology, Business and Policy.
