Reed Finance is recruiting on behalf of one of Europe's largest privately owned groups in this sector, for a permanent Financial Controller for their Newry site.


As part of the SMT, this is a #1 finance role and includes the management of an established team of 8 staff.


  • Working as part of the Senior Management team, determining strategic direction of business
  • Manage & Develop team of c8 support staff, including annual appraisals, training needs and KPI's
  • Maintain & develop financial and operational controls to ensure accurate reporting
  • Understand the business processes as a whole and the impact they have on the financial performance of the site
  • Ensure that adequate controls are in place to record and validate all transactions that occur within the business
  • Ensure the finance team as a whole produce accurate, timely and meaningful information for the management of the business
  • Setting, Review & monitoring of Key performance indicators across the site, including operational and commercial areas
  • Review and maintain Balance sheet controls to include full reconciliations
  • Weekly Management accounts and reporting, including presentation
  • Monthly Financial & Management accounts and reporting, including presentation
  • Annual accounts and liaison with both internal and external auditors
  • Ensure that any existing or new IT systems development meets the needs of the business and provides all necessary controls
  • Working closely with site General Manager, providing detailed financial analysis as required

Criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience in influencing profitability, managing risk and financial prudence
  • Track record of successful budget delivery
  • A highly effective communicator with exceptional leadership skills
  • Commercially aware and experienced in balancing the short, medium
- and long-term goals of the business

  • Consistent and decisive in decision making
  • Strong and effective relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Customer relationship and senior stakeholder relationship experience at a strategic level
  • Experience and understanding of product and job costings
