Job Overview:

More than a Revenue Manager, we are looking for a " Profit Strategist ". This role offers the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid setup (3 days in the London office, 2 days from home). The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5+ years of experience in revenue management within the hospitality industry, with a solid understanding of distribution and revenue management practices. More junior profiles could also be considered, depending on personality, skills, and potential to learn and grow quickly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Revenue/Profit Strategies: Define the "Ideal Business-Mix" to create and execute comprehensive revenue management strategies to optimise revenue and profit, deliver budget, and grow market share across the properties.
  • Profit Strategy: Develop a mindset and basic financial understanding to optimise both revenue and profitability by considering the costs of distribution and acquisition.
  • Market Analysis: Perform detailed market analysis to stay abreast of trends, competitive landscape, and potential opportunities.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Prepare accurate forecasts and budgets to guide financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Pricing Strategy: Develop dynamic pricing strategies based on demand patterns, market conditions, and historical performance.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory to ensure optimal distribution and availability across all sales channels.
  • Distribution Management: Oversee all distribution aspects, including rate loading and mapping, across various channels (Direct, OTA, GDS). Handle account management for OTAs and other channels as appropriate.
  • Group Quotation: Utilise skills to quote for ad-hoc group business, employing displacement calculations and commercial acumen.
  • Corporate Negotiated Rates Review: Collaborate with the sales team to price, monitor, and review negotiated rates.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust revenue strategies as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, reservations, and operations teams to ensure revenue management strategies align with overall business objectives.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed revenue reports and present insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Incorporate sustainability considerations into revenue management practices when appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 2 to 5+ years of experience in revenue management within the hospitality industry. More junior profiles might also be considered for talents with the right skills and mindset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in revenue management systems (RMS), property management systems (PMS), good understanding of distribution, and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with data analytics tools is an advantage.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.

Desired Skills:

  • Revenue Management Systems (RMS): Proficiency in using RMS platforms, especially Duetto, for optimising revenue strategies.
  • Property Management Systems (PMS): Experience with PMS software, particularly MEWS, for efficient property management operations.
  • Distribution Channel Manager: Familiarity with Distribution Channel Manager tools such as SiteMinder and HotelRez for effective management of online distribution channels.
  • Rate Shopper: Knowledge of Rate Shopper tools like HQ Revenue for competitive pricing analysis and strategy development.
  • Market Share Analysis: Understanding of market share analysis tools such as STR for evaluating market performance and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Experience with CRM platforms like Thynk by Salesforce and Revinate for managing customer relationships and enhancing guest experiences.
  • Office Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, as well as the Google Suite, for data analysis, reporting, financial modelling and presentation.
  • Communication Tools: Familiarity with email management platforms, specifically GMail, for efficient communication and organisation, as well as Slack.
