We have an opportunity a Clinical Support Worker to join Hospital Clinical Support Team/Medical Assessment Unit based at University Hospital Hairmyres


As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out routine personal care/assist with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by), a registered nurse/clinician.

The post holder will ensure a person-centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.

The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward/department environment.

Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

  • SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
