About the position

Overview

The Ministry of Defence employs a large number of Civil Servants, with the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) being one of the largest employers within the ministry, consisting of approximately 7,000 MOD Civil Servants spread across more than 300 locations. The workforce is diverse, encompassing various roles from trainers, human resources specialists, teachers, psychologists, to storekeepers, financiers, project managers, and policy staff. Data analysis plays a crucial role in understanding the workforce.

The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) Group is responsible for providing initial officer training for Regular and Reserve officers of the British Army and international partners, University Officer Training Corps, instructor development for foreign allies, pre-employment training for Commanding Officers, and professional development for General Staff members.

This role involves overseeing the Officer Cadet Administration Cell (OCAC) to ensure efficient processing of Officer Cadet (OCdt) procedures for various training courses. Key responsibilities include managing candidate data, coordinating commissioning processes, completing administrative tasks for course graduates, updating essential data in the MoD system, generating commissioning lists, producing reports, and supporting senior staff members.

Requirements for the role

In addition to being well-organized and detail-oriented, the ideal candidate must possess strong communication and collaboration skills. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including military personnel of all ranks and Defense Attaches both domestically and internationally, requires effective leadership and mentoring capabilities. Familiarity with MoD IT systems is beneficial, but training will be provided.
