About the role
Our Maintenance Technicians work collaboratively with colleagues at Tesco, utilizing core skills and experience to deliver exceptional service and ensure our estate remains safe, legal, compliant, and operational.

You will be responsible for
Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence with the following specific risk responsibilities:
  • Ensuring all Tesco sites are safe and functional for customers and colleagues.
  • Adhering to the planned work schedule for first-time fixes, maximizing productivity, and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining high-quality work standards across the estate with yearly improvements.
  • Building effective relationships and communication with stakeholders.
  • Sharing best practices and knowledge with team members.
  • Identifying and developing solutions for key issues using problem-solving skills and innovation.
  • Owning tasks at a local level through to completion/resolution and informing key stakeholders when necessary.
  • Driving your own development through the maintenance pathway progression.
  • Managing your monthly 1-2-1 schedule with your line manager.
  • Utilizing mobile devices for work completion and updates.
  • Utilizing business systems for WON reporting to support asset lifecycle management.
  • Representing the Tesco brand by following business standards, demonstrating values-led behaviors, a positive attitude, and taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
  • Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
  • Supporting KPI delivery through practical application of skill sets and effective use of business systems to achieve your set KPIs.

  • Legal compliance & statutory requirements
  • Stock and inventory management
  • All company issued equipment - appropriate use and care
You will need
Operational Skills:
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or improver program or relevant trade experience.
  • Basic diagnostics: PCB/Microprocessor/HMI controlled systems/equipment
  • Basic working knowledge of Electrical Safety Circuit, fault finding, and replacement.
  • Full driving license
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Communication & stakeholder management
  • Office 365 knowledge
Relevant Experience:
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or improver program or relevant trade experience.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment.
  • Digital proficiency; comfortable operating mobile phones and tablets for work-related tasks.
  • Relevant qualification in the electrical working area.
Required Qualifications
  • City & Guilds Level 3 - Electrical (Or Equivalent)
  • Apprenticeship/Improver program
Preferable Qualifications
  • City & Guilds Inspection & Testing
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition
  • MEWP/IPAF Licence
