London, Greater London, United Kingdom Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to support the Elective Caesarean Section team in providing both clinical and administrative support for all women throughout the ELCS team and Delivery Suite service.

The Maternity Support Worker will work under the direction of the midwife, supporting the smooth running of the service.

This role includes managing the stock levels of the unit, supporting the cleaning and restocking each shift, checking equipment used on the maternity unit and supporting the ward clerks.

This is an exciting opportunity for qualified individuals who are willing to undertake training and have an interest in working in the NHS environment.

Ideally you will have some knowledge of working within a hospital setting.

This role is based in the DeliverySuite of Homerton University Hospital, working shift patterns Monday to Friday.

Main duties include:

  • Support the midwifery and obstetric team in providing maternity care to families.
  • Work under the direction of the midwife, assisting in the care of women and babies while in hospital or in their own homes.
  • The midwife is responsible for the care of all mothers and babies and supervises activities delegated to the maternity care assistant.
  • Direct supervision is not necessary when the maternity care assistant has been deemed competent to carry out particular care activity, but it must be undertaken within the framework of the woman's plan of care

Please note that applicants must have the right to work in the UK, without the need for sponsorship
