The Digital Transformation Lead role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines.

Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The difference our new Digital Transformation Lead will make
As a Digital Transformation Lead, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

The Digital Transformation Lead is a new role that reflects a critical requirement to provide dedicated management for the transformation of all commissioning group processes to digital platforms and the subsequent ongoing maintenance of them.


Day to day, you'll carry out significant research and development, implementation of new processes, procedures and delivery of impactful change to the business.

This role is based Onsite at Devonport, Plymouth. Working from home options are available when the need arises.

Essential experience

  • NVQ Level 4, or relevant engineering experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of digital systems and software.
  • Relevant experience with data migration approaches, tools and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with multiple programming and scripting languages.
  • An understanding of data visualisation tools.
  • High capability of working on own initiative, and selfmanagement of workloads, with the ability to work under pressure and within a multidisciplined environment.
  • You must hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance, NNPPI and ITAR. You will be able to start with SC clearance. You must be a British National.
