We are looking for support workers who care about making every moment matter for the people we support.

Due to growth, we have several positions focused on supporting people to live in and be part of the local community.

Our residential service is about helping people to get out in the community and make the most of their time at home.

Hetton-le-Hole (DH5 postcode)

Hours:
Full time or part time: 24 / 36 / 48 hours per week available, day & night shifts on a rota basis (12 hour shifts)

About our service


A residential service located in an attractive and peaceful setting, we can support up to 7 people with a range of support needs including learning disabilities, autism and other complex care.

For each person we support, an individual programme of activities is developed around their likes, needs and hobbies including:

  • Local walks
  • Playing football
  • Swimming
  • Attending discos
  • Bike riding
  • Cinema trips

About you
Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?


You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team.


In addition, it is desirable to have:

  • Previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge
  • Hold or willing to work towards a Level 2 in Health & Social Care
  • Hold a valid drivers licence.

The Role

  • To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone's individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, wellbeing, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
