  • We are currently seeking Support Workers to join B's Micro-Team in Street._
  • B is a nineteen year old man with a diagnosis of learning disabilities and autism, who lives in Street in his own home. _
  • B needs Support Workers around him who will ensure his needs are met and that he gets to build and grow his life in a way that is meaningful to him. _
  • B is looking to be supported by people who are active, fun and engaging. _
  • B thrives in an environment that is structured and has a consistent approach._
  • B enjoys drives out in his mobility car to visit places of interest such as the zoo, farms, cafés, shopping trips, and swimming. _
  • Things that are important to B are his family, his iPad and to be given informed choice in what he does._


You First is a forward thinking, innovative and market leading Social Enterprise, formed as a Community Interest Company (CIC), that enables neurodivergent people, people with learning disabilities and/or mental health illness to build and grow their lives in a way that is both meaningful and purposeful for them.

This is achieved by creating small, bespoke, dedicated teams of people who are selected by the person supported and who work to enable the person to fulfil their goals, hopes, dreams and aspirations.

We call these bespoke teams Micro-Teams.

YOU FIRST WILL:

  • Pay £13ph from the moment you start supporting B, there is no probation rate
  • We pay 35p per mile for every mile you travel,
    INCLUDING commuting miles
  • We offer permanent, full time, part time and casual contracts and you can choose what works best for you and your needs
  • You will have a permanent contract that provides you with guaranteed regular hours
  • You will have a full induction before commencing work and this will include person specific training and shadow supports
  • Each team has a Slack (virtual message board) page when you can obtain feedback and support from fellow team members and managers
  • We operate a 24hour On Call facility, so you always have access to support in emergency situations
  • We do not use Zero Hour Contracts
  • We provide an occupational pension
  • We have an Employee Assistance Programme meaning you and your family have access to free and confidential 24hour counselling and support
  • We meet the cost of your DBS check
  • You will receive full training and bimonthly supervision
  • If you are new to social care, you will be supported through your Care Certificate in paid time
  • You will have the option to study for a nationally recognised Diploma
  • You will have your roster 4 weeks in advance, allowing you to plan your life Your roster will be in the form of an App


You will need to be a car driver and able to work some evenings and weekends on a roster basis.
